Wine Tasting: Border Crossings
September 11, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$40
Wines and Changing Borders
Are the people, themselves, the true terroir?
Borders can be pretty arbitrary, as the changing geopolitial-world is constantly demonstrating.
But, while the name, politicians, and language may change, “place” does not. People are the constant tie to the land, maintaining and preserving underlying traditions and cultures – and sense of place.
Come taste 5 wines from lands with historically-contested borders:
- Marjan Simčič, Goriška Brda Pinot Grigio (2015)
- Meinklang Somlo Foam Pet Nat Biodynamic (2016)
- Kuentz-Bas, Alsace Pinot Noir (2013)
- Alpha Estate, Xinomavro (2015)
- Jean Louis Tribouley Cotes Catalanes Orchis Vieilles Vignes (2014)
(wines are subject to change due to PLCB availability)
