What a World Cup!
The 2019 edition had a whole lot going on, from record-breaking performances to iconic stances, politics, and chants for equal pay.
But it wasn’t all about the Americans. Italy returned for the first time in 20 years! Germany, the last back-to-back winners, didn’t make it out of the quarterfinals. The Brits were well-represented with the US coach, a trip to the semis, and….tea.
We’ll take a wine tour around some of the people, places, and events that made this World Cup so thrilling, tasting wine along the way. And, as always, we’ll dig deep to discover the history under the soil.
- Weingut Josef Leitz, Riesling Eins Zwei Dry 3 Trocken (2017)
- Antoniolo, Erbaluce di Caluso (2014)
- Hush Heath Winery, Balfour 1503 Dry Rosé (NV)
- Domaine Jean Vullien, Vin de Savoie Mondeuse St Jean de la Porte (2017)
- Cruse Wine Company, Red Blend Monkey Jacket North Coast (2018)
