Guatemala City native, owner of El Merkury, and now distiller Sofia Deleon’s new Tenango Rum is exactly the kind of spirit we love to feature here at Jet — small batch, female-owned and ran, an interesting and empowering backstory, and, of course, delicious and drinkable. On Saturday, 11/4 from 5-9pm, come swing by the indoor bar at Jet to chat with Sofia herself, sip on some rum samples, order one of the two special Tenango cocktails we’ll be featuring (or just straight rum, because trust us, it is very easy to drink with no mixers!) and have all your rum-related questions answered by the brand owner and expert herself. With a menu of Guatemala-meets-Philly inspired Happy Hour snacks designed by Sofia and Jet’s Chef de Cuisine, Jacob Fram, this is the perfect way to warm up with some delicious dark liquor and kick off the cozy season.
